It was an excitement and jubilation galore on Friday (25th April, 2019) as Prof.
Boniface Ginikanwa Nworgu, accompanied by friends, colleagues and relatives, donated 20 units of
twin-pupil furniture to Community Central School, Alulu, Ngor-Okopala LGA, Imo State.
While presenting the furniture to the school authority, Prof. Nworgu, who passed through the school as
a pupil, said the donation was made in support of 'Adopt-A-Schhol Project', an initiative of the
Nigerian Academy of Education under the leadership Prof. Elizabeth Ekeh.
Prof Nworgu, who hails from Alulu community, is a member of Nigerian Academy of Science and
Professor of Physics Education in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Also speaking, the representative of Nigerian Academy of Science, Prof. Patrick M. C Ogoamaka,
commended Prof. Nworgu for remembering and giving back to his alma mater after decades of leaving
the school.
He described Prof. Nworgu as an erudite scholar whose contributions to knowledge and humanity are
immeasurable, adding that 'Adopt A School Project' as conceived by the Nigerian Academy of Education
is meant to bridge the obvious deficit by providing critical educational materials to adopted schools.
Earlier in her welcome address, the headmistress of the school, Mrs Elekwachi Olivia (Née Ayozie),
posited that Prof. Nworgu 'has done what Napoleon could not do by providing seating
infrastructure to us'.
